North Dining Hall to Transition to Quarantine-Only

As the weather turns colder and daylight savings time approaches, Dining Services will transition the North Campus dining hall into a facility exclusively for quarantined students. The change starts this Friday, Oct. 2, and runs through the end of the semester.

Buckley’s dining hall will continue to operate as a quarantine-only location as well, but adding the North Campus location will shorten the distance for some students. Both units will maintain their normal serving hours, and quarantined students can dine at either location.

Non-quarantined students who would normally dine at North can dine instead at Northwest, which is next door and has the capacity to accommodate those guests.

Gelfenbien Commons to Open Grab & Go Window

On Wednesday, September 23, Gelfenbien Commons (Towers) will open their grab and go window for to-go meals.

During the week, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be available, and on the weekends the grab and go will be open for lunch and dinner.

The only hot food items will be pizza. Any items that need to be heated will have microwaveable instructions.

Students with residential meal plans can swipe for two main choices from the menu at each meal, per visit. A choice of beverage is also included with the meal.

Gelfenbien will not have seating/dine-in available.

Students in quarantine will have to continue to get their meals from Buckley.

Reminder: Bring your blue bag with you! If you are on a residential meal plan and have yet to pick up a blue reusable bag to take with you to the dining halls, Gelfenbien will have a limited supply on hand to distribute.

Dining Retail Locations: Hours Update & Closures

After a careful business review, Dining Services has determined that it will be temporarily closing Chem Café and Wilbur’s Café and the Bistro (within the Student Union) effective this Friday, September 18. Chem Cafe & Wilbur’s will be open til 3pm on Friday and Bistro until 6pm.

Earth, Wok and Fire and One Plate, Two Plate within the Student Union will have adjusted schedules of operation, beginning the weekend of September 26th, when they will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Student Union Food Court will continue to be open on weekends to meet the campus’s dining needs. All of these changes have been initiated because of the lack of business in these areas.

Any student employees impacted by these changes will be offered a transition to other areas of Dining Services.

Dining Halls to Distribute Reusable Bags for To-Go Food

Beginning Friday, September 11th, Dining Services will begin to distribute blue reusable bags in the dining halls for students to use for to-go food.

The bag is super lightweight and can be easily folded up into the inner pouch to save space which makes for easy portability.

Each student will receive one bag and it will be noted on their OneCard when they receive their bag.

If students forget their bag they will be able to request a recyclable/eco-friendly plastic bag at the dining hall.
