Student Developed Nutrition Bar Now Being Sold at the C-Store

UConn Dining is proud to support the UConn entrepreneurial team that created the Reach Bar – Eva Quigley (left), Natalie Lacroix, and Sofia Saul (right).
The Reach Bar is a vegetable-based nutrition bar and for every bar purchased they donate a meal to a child in a food-insecure home through a partnership with a Connecticut-based nonprofit.
The bar is vegan, gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO, and domestically produced, manufactured, and assembled.

Donate a Flex Pass at Give A Meal on Nov 9th

On Tuesday, November 9th at dinner, (4:15-7:45pm) UConn Dining will continue the tradition of holding a Give-A-Meal event in all 8 residential dining halls.

Each student can tap their ID card and donate one flex pass. All proceeds from the donated flex passes will go to:

 

  • Community Outreach Alternative Break – offset the expense of transportation for the non-traditional spring break trips
  • Division of Student Affairs, Student First Fund – This program is aimed at meeting the needs of students who are experiencing unanticipated hardships.

Dining Halls

Semester meal plans shut down after dinner on Friday, November 19th. Residential meal plans will resume on Sunday, November 28th at breakfast. Community Meal Plans stay active during break and can be used at locations that are open. If you are staying on campus during Thanksgiving break 11/20-11/27, please check out the details below for what will be open. If you have a residential meal plan and would like meals during your time on campus, please fill out this form.  Buckley (and all other Dining operations) will be closed on Thursday, November 25th so that our staff can enjoy Thanksgiving with their families. We hope you have a wonderful break!

 

Bakery Thanksgiving Pie & Baked Goods Sale

Ordering for the annual UConn Bakery Thanksgiving Pie & Baked Goods sale is now available.

The bakery has many Thanksgiving staples such as apple pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, pumpkin cheesecake, rolls, bread, and more. Gluten-free options are also available. New this year is a 6″ vegan brownie with fall sprinkles.

Orders must be in by 4pm on Friday, November 12th, 2021. No orders will be accepted after this date. The items offered in this store are available only for the Thanksgiving Pie & Baked Goods sale for pick up on Wednesday, November 24th. Pick up will be at the Bakery (located in the Commissary building, 30 Gurleyville Road) from 8:30am-2:30pm.

The sale is open to the campus community and the public.

Dining to present Gluten Free Pie Demo on October 28th

Join us on October 28th from 12-1pm for an online demo on how to make a Gluten-Free Apple Pie. This event is part of the UConn Human Resources Work/Life month. After the pre-recorded demo, UConn Bakery manager Eric Merkle will be available on the session to answer your questions live. Check out the details and get the Microsoft Teams link here.

Dairy Bar October Specials & Change in Hours

The UConn Dairy Bar will be changing hours effective Wednesday, October 20th. Hours of operation until further notice will be Wednesday through Sunday from 11am-7pm.

Make sure to stop by and try the October specials and our seasonal flavor pumpkin. They won't last long so grab them while you can!

Any newly hired student employee who signs up for 3 shifts that are at least 3 hours long and begin at 7:30pm or later will receive $100 in points. The points will be added to their student ID and will not expire unless the student is released from employment. The student must work these shifts for a minimum of 30 calendar days before the points are added. **This applies only to shifts at Union Street Market, McMahon, and Northwest.**
