2026 Information
During move-in days, we have a modified schedule for retail and dining halls. Not all dining halls will be open on August 27th. Please review our schedule below. First-year students will have a Week of Welcome (WOW) schedule for the first couple of days before classes begin.
Early Move-in: Some dining halls will be open for early arrival groups (band, international orientation, etc). If you are arriving/moving in early, dining information will be provided to you by the group/department responsible for your move-in.
Fall Semester meal plans (including points & flex passes) begin on Thursday, August 27th.
Dining Hall Guests During Move-In: Students can bring guests to the dining hall for a meal during move-in.
-
- each guest (age 5 & older) has to be paid for with: points, flex passes (1 per guest), or Husky Bucks - all of which are on your OneCard. Or guests can pay credit/debit (at guest price). Guests under 5 are free.
- guests are welcome to dine at the dining hall w/out a student accompanying you (at guest price)
- guests are welcome throughout the year, not just during move-in
- make sure you review our schedule to know which dining halls are open
Normal semester hours for dining halls and retail locations begin on Monday, August 31st.
Important Dining Info to Review Before the Start of the Semester
Welcome to UConn Dining!
Whether you're a new Husky or a returning student, these quick tips will help you make the most of UConn Dining throughout the semester.
New to Campus?
Start here!
-
- Review our Dining Tips for New Huskies
- Explore our Dining Locations & Campus Map to see where all our dining halls and cafes are located.
- Curious about the time it takes to walk between our dining halls? Check out our map for time and calories burned. Even if you're not heading from dining hall to dining hall, this might provide you with a good estimate of the time it takes to get to different areas of campus.
Meal Plans
Fall semester meal plans begin Thursday, August 27.
Moving in Early? If you'll be on the Storrs campus before August 27 for athletics, orientation, employment, band, or another university program, please check with your campus contact regarding dining accommodations.
Community Meal Plans
Students living in on-campus apartments or off campus can purchase a Community Meal Plan.
Please purchase your plan before arriving at a dining hall. Meal plans may take up to 24 hours to activate. Completing the online intent-to-purchase form does not provide immediate access, so be sure to have an alternate form of payment if your plan has not yet been activated.
Community Meal Plans offer a lower cost per meal than paying the guest rate with a credit card, Husky Bucks, or points.
Need to Change Your Meal Plan?
You may upgrade or downgrade your meal plan through Friday, September 18, 2026. Complete the online Meal Plan Change Form before the deadline.
Housing Change?
If your housing changes from a residence hall or suite to an on-campus apartment or off-campus housing, your residential meal plan is automatically removed from your fee bill.
You can still purchase a Community Meal Plan to continue dining with us.
Accessing the Dining Halls
Don't forget your UConn OneCard! Your OneCard is required to enter all dining halls.
Bringing Guests
Guests are welcome in our dining halls year-round.
Students may pay for guests (ages 5 and older) using:
- Flex Passes (one per guest)
- Points
- Husky Bucks
- Credit or debit card (guest price)
Children under age 5 dine free.
Guests are also welcome to dine without a student by paying the published guest price.
