We are excited to announce that Dairy Bar will be reopening on Wednesday, June 24th for limited curbside service through online ordering. We ask that you please review all our ordering guidelines below so that we are able to keep our staff and customers healthy and safe as we adjust to this new service. These guidelines will also be available on the Dairy Bar ordering site when it launches.

Our limited service will include scooping small, medium, and pint cups (no toppings) and selling half gallons. At this time we are not able to serve walk-up customers. The Dairy Bar building will be closed to the public. Outdoor seating and public restrooms will not be available.

A link to our online ordering will be live on June 24th at dining.uconn.edu/uconn-dairy-bar

Days We Will Be Open –  Wednesday-Sunday
Place Online Orders between 8am-4:30pm for same-day pick-up (orders placed after 4:30pm will not be prepared that day)
Curbside Pick-Up – 12pm-6:30pm (ends at 6:30pm sharp)
Advanced Orders – Customers are welcome to place an order early for pick-up on a different day that we are open. Upon check out, there is a box for you to tell us your approximate date of pick-up.

Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and July 3rd-7th, 2020.

How to order: We can only accept orders and payments through our online form. We are not able to take payments or orders onsite, through email or through phone calls. Once your order is placed, please allow up to 2 hours for it to be fulfilled. Once your order is ready you’ll receive a call from our staff (860 area code) to let you know your order is ready. Please wait for this phone call or voicemail before coming to the Dairy Bar.

When you arrive: We ask that customers wear masks and stay in their vehicles. Parking spots for pick-up will have a designated sign with a number. Please park in any of these available spots. If a spot is not available, please wait your turn. When you are in a designated spot, please call 860-486-1021 and let the staff know the name that the order is under and what parking spot you are in. We ask that you please leave the designated parking spot once you receive your order so that we may serve additional customers. Thank you for your patience with this process.

Payment will be taken once you complete your online order, not upon pick-up.

UConn IDs & Tax: Unfortunately at this time we are not able to validate UConn IDs through the online ordering system to remove tax.

If you have issues during the ordering process or questions, please email dairybar@uconn.edu. Staff will be monitoring this email address during our hours of operation.

As we work through this new service model we may make adjustments to our hours/days, menu offerings and ordering process. We will keep you informed along the way and thank you in advance for your patience.

Virtual Give-A-Meal April 20th-24th

The Dean of Students Office and Dining Services would like you to participate in a virtual Husky Swipes event. The UConn Swipes Program aims to provide students who are food insecure, and/or who are experiencing an emergency situation, access to healthy and well-balanced meals in our campus dining halls.

As in the past, while students were on campus, Dining would work collaboratively with the Dean of Students Office and other Departments within Student Affairs to encourage students to donate one swipe from their meal plan so that funds would be available for those that are facing food insecurity.  We now encourage you to take this opportunity virtually so we can continue with this important cause.

Students with a traditional dining plan interested in helping another student fight hunger insecurity can do so at the virtual Give A Meal event:

  • WHEN: Monday, April 20, 2020 through Friday, April 24, 2020.
  • WHAT YOU DO: Log into your account at the One Card website.
  • Select Donations on the left-hand side
  • All proceeds will go to the UConn Swipes initiative.
  • Since its inception, the UConn Swipes initiative has donated $9,815!

If you need additional information regarding this initiative and how to apply you may find it on the Dean’s website at www.dos.uconn.edu.

Thank you in advance for your donation which will help a fellow Husky in the future.

Sincerely

Maureen Armstrong
