Graduation just got sweeter!!

The UConn Bakery is now taking advance online orders for graduation cakes—so you can celebrate with something fresh, delicious, and ready to pick up right on ceremony day on the Storrs campus. Please read all the details below before placing an order. Orders must be in by the end of the day on May 6th, 2026

RASPBERRY MOUSSE - This light and airy cake has 2 layers of sweet raspberry mousse between layers of golden cake, topped with raspberry jam. Decorated with flowers and a UConn-branded mortar board and tassel.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE - This decadent cake has 2 layers of pâte à bombe mousse between layers of chocolate cake, topped with chocolate ganache. Decorated with flowers and a UConn-branded mortar board and tassel.

• How much? Each cake is $35 - the cake is paid for in advance through our online store via credit/debit
• What is the size? The cake is 8” x 8” and 2.5” tall. We wrap it in an acetate sheet to keep the edges moist.
• How many does it serve? Up to 16
• When is the order deadline? May 6th, 2026
• When is the pick up? You can pick any date from May 8th to 12th. When you place your order, you'll be asked to choose a pickup date upon checkout.
• Where do I pick this up? UConn Dining convenience store (C-Store) on the Storrs campus - located on the 2nd floor of the Student Union (diagonal to Dunkin'). This location is a short walk from Gampel and Jorgensen (Note: the name outside the store is Union Central Exchange - everyone on campus refers to it as the C-Store).
• Do I have to pick a specific time? No, the cakes are refrigerated until you arrive. We just ask that you come by on your pick-up date during our store hours. We cannot accommodate any other pickup date or time outside the dates and times listed below.

  • Fri., May 8th: 9am-5pm
  • Sat., May 9th: 10am-5pm
  • Sun., May 10th: 10am-5pm
  • Mon., May 11th: 9am-3pm
  • Tues., May 12th: 9am-3pm
• Why the limited hours? We understand these hours may not work to accommodate all commencement ceremonies. Our C-Store is staffed by students who, at this time of year, are heading home, taking exams, or graduating, so staffing and hours are limited at our retail locations. The C-Store location provides easy central access from the graduation ceremonies and has refrigeration. We are not able to tell you the exact time when specific ceremonies end - best to check with your student on those details. This is our first time doing this, and if successful, we can look into expanding pickup options in the future.
• What can I add for a message? Due to the limited size of the cake, we can only do one of the following:
  • Congratulations
  • Congratulations + Name of Graduate (max 2 names)
  • If you prefer, no message.

• What if something changes or I need to cancel? PLEASE contact us ASAP at both of these email addresses: dining.services@uconn.edu, eric.merkle@uconn.edu, or call during business hours to our Dining Services main desk 860-486-3128 (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm)
• Can you prepare this for dietary preferences? Sorry, this cannot be made gluten-free or vegan.
• Why only two cakes? This is a very busy time of the year for our bakery, and it's our first time offering graduation cakes for sale. If successful, we may be able to look at ways to expand our options for next year. If you're looking for traditional sheet cakes or round cakes, you can still order them from our bakery online store for pickup at the C-Store. For those cakes, we require at least a week's notice from your pickup date.
• Having issues with the online store? If you've left the store tab open or something in your cart for a while, please reopen it in a new browser tab or window. You may also need to clear your cache/browser history if you continue to have issues. Please also make sure the address you enter matches the one on file for your credit/debit card.

PLACE AN ORDER
