
The UConn Stamford Local Eatery Meal Plan connects hungry Huskies with Stamford’s local eateries. The meal plan allows students to purchase blocks of meals for use at off-campus, independent, restaurants. Participating restaurants will provide healthy, well-balanced options and accommodate dietary restrictions when possible.
Meals
Each meal will include a main dish, a side, and a beverage appropriate for lunch or dinner.
One swipe provides you with one comprehensive meal at a participating restaurant.
Hours
Meals can be redeemed during the participating restaurants' hours of operation. Please visit each location or their website for current hours.
Cost
$325 per block (25 meals)
Maximum of 10 blocks or 250 meals.
How & When to Purchase
Enrollment periods are May 1st – July 31st & Dec 1st – Jan 7th. Students may only enroll as a new participant during these designated windows; applications will not be accepted beyond those dates. Students who are active meal plan participants may purchase additional meals during the “Add-On Period” listed below.
Stamford Meal Plan: Add-On Period
During week seven and eight of the semester, active meal plan participants will have the opportunity to add additional blocks of meals. Blocks of meals will only be available to those participants who have 25 or less meals remaining on their balance. The add-on period for fall 2025 is October 5th – 18th, 2025.

Meal Block Suggestions
Residential Students
If you are interested in approximately 2 meals per day (including weekends), we recommend purchasing 225 meals (9 blocks) for the semester.
Please take into consideration whether you will be staying on campus for winter break when calculating your meal needs.
Commuter Students
Looking for 1 meal per day during the school week for the semester? We recommend purchasing 100 meals (4 blocks).
Billing & Other Details
Billing
Charges are posted to the student's fee bill.
Pay Online through Bursar's Office: Once you purchase a meal plan via the Local Eatery Meal Plan at Stamford, your payment will be due within ten days to the Bursar's office (watch for an email from the Bursar’s Office informing you of the payment due date). If not paid within 10 days, you will be subject to a $150.00 late fee and/or a hold on your account. You may make free online e-check payments by going to bursar.uconn.edu. Credit card payments are accepted online only through the Student Administration System. There is a 2.85% convenience fee for credit card payments.
Carryover Information
Effective Fall 2025 purchased meals will no longer carry over to the new academic year. All meals currently on any student meal plan participant's account may be used through May 31, 2026. To avoid losing unused meals at the end of the year, students are encouraged to carefully estimate the number of meals they will need before purchasing a block of meals (this includes during the “Add-On Period). See "Meal Block Suggestions" section for how to calculate.
Refund Eligibility
Students will be eligible for a refund of unused meals at the cost they paid for the meal plan if they:
- Separate from the University
- Graduate
- Students are also eligible for a refund if they have not yet used a meal and a request is made prior to the first day of classes.
